Lahore Qalandars vs Multan Sultans , 1st Match – Live Cricket Score
Multan Sultans (MUL) will face Lahore Qalandars (LAH) in the opening match of Pakistan Super League 2023 (PSL) at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Monday. In the final of PSL 2022, Multan Sultans were defeated by Lahore Qalandars by 42 runs. But they were the best team in the group stage round with nine wins from ten matches.
Captain Muhammad Rizwan was awarded the player of the tournament for scoring 546 runs in 11 innings. Shan Masood also made a big impact with 478 runs, while Shahnawaz Durmani took 17 wickets. They signed Josh Little and Tim David in the player draft but the latter will miss the opening seven games.
Lahore Qalandars led by Shaheen Afridi won the last edition by defeating Multan Sultans in the final. They finished the group stage round in second position with six wins from ten matches. Shaheen was the tournament’s top wicket-taker with 20 wickets in 13 innings and returned from injury.
Last season’s leading run-scorer Fakhar Zaman was re-signed in the player draft along with Haris Rauf and Rashid Khan. They have signed Shai Hope and Sam Billings as replacements for Kosal Mendes and Jordan Cox. Harry Brook and Rashid Khan will miss the first few matches due to national duties.
